i first started songwriting when i was 12, but picked it up again during the pandemic in a last-ditch effort to keep myself from going insane. in many ways, this project is a gift to my younger self. at 24, i finally feel like i have the tools to make her dreams come true.

‘lovebug’ is a mason jar terrarium: a small but mighty contained growth which lets my angstiest thoughts, fears and insecurities run amok. she’s bitchy, melodramatic, pissed off, heartbroken. she is both a reflection of and a caricature of all my complicated, confusing feelings about romantic love.
